Research Agendas: An Invitation to Readers
Journal of Empirical Research on Human Research Ethics 2006 June; 1(2): 3-5
THE AIM OF JERHRE IS TO identify and promote meritorious research and collaboration that will enhance human research and promote the evolution of best research practices. The purpose of this column is to identify topics in need of research and to invite collaboration, as set forth in the March 2006 issue. (See http://caliber.ucpress.net/loi/jer). An agenda proposed in this issue is research on harms to those who gather data. The scientific and ethical quality of human research depends, in large measure, on the persons who work day-to-day gathering data. Persons who work under conditions of high stress, or in fear of bodily harm are not in the best position to gather high quality data or attend fully to ethical aspects of research conduct.
