Covey said that this sketch was done at the Maryland Institute of Art. The sketch is very closely related to the 1975 or 1976 wood engraving "The Boy Who Drew Cats." The sketch may have been done for the 1974 intaglio prints. This is the more finished of two sketches of "The Boy Who Drew Cats."Sketches of a boy and illustrated cats.
