In 2011 Rebirth was introduced to the world at the Sundance Film Festival. This Peabody award-winning documentary captures the nine-year journeys of New Yorkers whose lives were forever changed as a result of this national tragedy. In screening after screening, Project Rebirth soon realized that these stories were about much more than the September 11th terrorist attacks; they portrayed a more universal journey, one that we all experience. The film content is emotionally intimate but also spiritually uplifting, and provides a portrait of how the full spectrum of human emotions -- shock, grief, anger, and confusion -- evolves into hope, connection, purpose, and renewal. The educational team at Project Rebirth has created teaching tools and programs that use the film content in a number of settings with a range of different audiences. The underlying message of these films is based on the human capacity to build emotional and psychological resilience in the face of life’s most challenging moments.
