Description
Originally the collection included computer tapes and punch cards, as well as those volumes used for sampling. Today, the collection retains only the texts used by Carroll et al to create the Corpus, some 1,500 volumes comprised of textbooks, workbooks, kits, novels, poetry, general nonfiction, encyclopedias, and magazines, sorted by subject (i.e. English, Mathematics, Music). Each volume retains the original sampling marks and corresponding sampling card, as well as the assigned organizational number. For additional information, please refer to: John B. Carroll, Peter Davies, and Barry Richman. The American Heritage Word Frequency Book (Boston: The Houghton Mifflin Company, 1971).
