The NEJL Oral History Project conducted its first round of interviews in 1990, years before the NEJL found a place to house its collections. There were subsequent interviews done throughout the 1990s and another round in 2002. Interviews were largely conducted at NLADA conferences and then later at the NEJL. Some interviews were also done at the interviewees' offices or homes. In 2013, the NEJL started a third phase of the oral history project, which is ongoing.
