Topics include the actions of veterans during the storming of the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021 including those of two veterans who were killed during the event, an update on the COVID-19 care numbers from the VA including vaccine distribution and death rates among veterans, an update on the VA's 4th Mission program to provide support and resources to communities across the U.S. in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, the creation of a device to help veterans experiencing nightmares brought on by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), an increase in appropriations in the VA's FY2021 budget, the passage of a bill containing sweeping veterans policy measures which include protections for student veterans, assistance for those sturggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, and various measures to aid women veterans including anti-harrassment and anti-sexual assault policies, a recent incident of the remains of veterans being stolen in Florida for use in religious rituals, and a piece in The Wall Street Journal detailing the devestating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on state-run nursing homes for veterans. Also included is a soliloquy from Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part I in which Lady Percy, wife of Sir Henry Percy, describes the nightmares suffered by her husband following his return from battle.
