Description
In this interview, Sivagami "Shiva" Subbaraman and Teak Hodge (SFS '21) continue their conversation from the interview on February 22, 2021. The interview primarily focuses on the power and importance of branding. Subbaraman discusses the early branding strategy for the LGBTQ Resrouce Center, which was driven by a need to show that LGBTQ students, faculty and staff were a part of Georgetown’s identity. Subbaraman goes on to talk about creating the design for the Center’s first t-shirt, which included the inverted pink triangle, and deliberately used the word “Hoya” as a way to invoke the deep sense of community that is attached to that word. Subbaraman also talks about how she came to partner with the Blommer Chocolate Company to provide chocolate bars for the Lavender Graduation ceremonies.
