Description
Assessment is a crucial part of any course; instructors must be able to identify if students are achieving course learning goals. In the last few years, we have seen assessment strategies change in STEM courses, as instructors experiment and change to fit changing modulaties, changing learning goals, changing STEM courses taught at Georgetown and focus on inclusion and equity in our assessments. During this session, we want to come together and share our experiences. What did we try to change in our assessments? Why? How well did it work, and what would we change for future iterations? Our goal during this session is to bring together ideas from different disciplines, types of courses and types of assessments. We encourage participants to come with their own experiences and the results of their experiments. We hope that through this sharing of ideas, we can each leave with new ideas and renewed energy to try different types of assessments, knowing that we have the support of a community of educators.
