Description
Holograph letter from Bishop E. Mulhern, Ardmaine, Newry (County Down), to Hagan, asking him to disregard a section in his previous letter about townlands. Observing that ecclesiastical Ireland is turning to Queenstown (Cobh) on Sunday - if political capital could be made of it then 'there would be prohibitions in the air'. A gathering is being planned 'in the intellectual (northeast)' at an old mass rock he judges this appropriate in view of the anti-Catholic campaign they are threatened with.
