Description
Typescript letter from E.J. Rawlins, The Palace, St. John's, Newfoundland (Canada), to Hagan, with congratulations. Remarks about the unreliability of news. Enquiring after letters sent with enclosures; he will pay the balance of his debt soon. His successor is happy with his new home [at the Irish College]. Observing that resentment is high at present against America 'still they'll eat every bit of American food they can get'. People have 'very accurate views' about the Irish question and sympathise with Sinn Fein, nearly everyone wearing the Republican flag.
