Description
Holograph letter from D.F. McCrea, Kilrea, County Derry, to Hagan, hoping his last letter with mass intentions arrived safely. Briefly commenting on the appointment to Omagh parish of a man much his senior; mentioning speculations are rife as to Archbishop (Walsh)'s successor. Offering his opinions on the upcoming elections for the northern and southern parliaments- the successful Catholic candidates will rigorously refuse to take part in the separation parliaments; the present lull in the shootings only bodes a subsequent outbreak of violence. Stating that intrigue at the Vatican against Ireland is not new. With Marquis MacSweeney being reinstalled in Rome all one is left to do is wonder.
