Typescript report signed by Fr. James Cowper C.C.and witnessed by [Roger] Fox, solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature in Ireland, Kilmallock, County Limerick. Cowper reports in detail that he was assaulted, searched and severely threatened on the Holyhead night boat to Dun Laoghaire, on 9 July, by two men in the uniforms of an officer and of a private of the British forces.
