Description
Holograph letter from Bishop M. Fogarty, Ennis (County Clare), to (Hagan), in thanks for letter and rescripts; enclosing cheque for fees and enclosing sheet listing fees for matrimonial dispensations (with reply from the Congregation of Sacraments). Then stating that 'the irregulars as far as rank (and) file are concerned are fast breaking up, and they are dwindling into a mere assassination club with a few clumps of desperadoes scattered through he country.' While the rank and file want peace, the leaders hold out 'for some trick of their own' in which they are unlikely to succeed. In his opinion, the worst is over.
