Description
Holograph letter from Bishop Patrick O'Donnell, Ard Adhamhnain, Letterkenny (County Donegal), to Hagan. The Archbishop of Tuam is coming to Rome and will bring all the news. He will know of the Standing Committee's opinions on the nuns for the Irish College. He met Monsignor Luzio when attending a meeting on the Education Bill in Armagh- beyond information-gathering there is not much he can do, though Dr. Harty has confidence in his scheme for peace. It seems that the fighting republicans are on the verge of collapse; a ceasefire is more likely than an effort to make terms. Mother Stanislaus is worried about her relatives yet hopeful for a way out; he enquired after Mrs. Childers. The purchase of a fine building (for the College) would be a great event.
