Typescript letter signed Peadar MacFhionnlaoich (Peter McGinley) and Proinsias Ó Fathaigh (Francis Fahy) President and Secretary, Gaelic League, 25 Parnell Square, Dublin, to Cardinal [...]. Pleading the necessity to nominate an Irish speaker to the now vacant see of Galway. Offering statistics to prove that this is 'the most Irish-speaking Diocese in Ireland'; singling out Oughterard, Galway city, and the Aran islands. (Marked 'translation') Now attached hand- written draft letter from (Hagan) to Cardinal [...], presenting the facts speaking against the appointment of a non-Irish speaker to the Galway see.
