Description
Holograph letter from Donal Hales, Via San Nazaro 1-10, Genova, to Hagan; he will deal with the pamphlets as instructed. Nothing will be done as desired by their friends, and undoubtedly Count McSwiney carries on his anti-republican propaganda in the Vatican. The editor of Corriere d'Italia apparently took a definite stand against the 'fascist' while the Vatican has 'the same crooked policy in Italian affairs as it has in the Irish question'. Miss Grace O'Brien is currently in Genova; she worked together with Art O'Brien in London. Calling the present efforts for Irish representation abroad 'a sickening sham’; Britain merely tolerates ambassadors like MacWhite. He has had an opportunity to hear opinions on the Irish question from all sides in Italian politics at a wedding recently.
