Description
[Fragment] holograph letter from [Canon Cesare Bobbi vicar general], Bobbio, to 'Monsignor' [Hagan]. On receiving a letter from Fr. Michael Boyle about a portrait of St. Columbanus now in work, cautioning that the saint is usually depicted in white, not in black as planned by Bravi. Asking the names of the higher clergy that will attend from Ireland; their signatures were illegible. The Cardinal Legate will be Cardinal [Ehrle]. Then recommending that Masses be celebrated in Piacenza at S. Brigida's, because of the large number of pilgrims. (Underneath, and fragmented by missing part of the sheet, note from (Curran) to (Hagan), referring to correspondence; praising the selection of [Ehrle]because of his scholarship).
