Pontifical Irish College
Sr. May Lelia
Hagan, John, 1873-1930
Holograph letter from Sr. (Mary) Lelia, St. Vincent’s Convent of Our Lady of Mercy, Galway, to Hagan, asking for acknowledgement of a cheque; enclosing now sum for a Mass on the feast of St. Theresa of Lisieux. Advocating a national penance to 'induce the whole Irish race to ... restore the Peace of Christ (and) religious discipline in Ireland'. Their new bishop might laugh at the idea, however- they do not know him yet. Enclosing holograph letter to the Holy Father to the same ends. [dated 'Feast of the Only Innocents']
