Description
Holograph letter from [P. Walsh], Clonliffe College, Dublin, to Hagan. He met Dempsey of Blanchardstown, giving him little hope as to the Holy See acting on his case, but promising him to intervene with the archbishop on his behalf. He could not promise him a transfer within three months. Asking him to look into a matrimonial case [for annulment] that has been with the Congregation of the Sacraments for a considerable time. Comments on Curran's father's death. Of his two new jobs the vicar generalship is the worse; he will make the best of things. Hagan's 'quondam bailiwick of Halston (Street)' is still vacant. Boylan, now in Luxor, must regret having been involved with the translation of the Manuel Biblique since the Holy Office is criticising that now. Morrissey is well; Ned Reilly 'died a raving lunatic'.
