Description
Holograph letter from Bishop William Codd, Summerhill, Wexford, to Hagan, having given his approval to Hagan's plan for the new College; the new site seems very worthy. Approving also of Mr. Browne's ordination in July. Offering comments on ways for the Benedictines to dispose of Mount St. Benedict; he would not want it on his hands; Fr. Sweetman did invest much into it. The state of tension was illustrated by Sweetman's failure to attend Canon Murphy's funeral. Also taking into account today's value of the property, rejecting the argument that Sweetman's obligation to his family precludes his removal. Adding list of payments made, including Peter's Pence.
