Description
Holograph letter from [P.A.] McCarthy, [Stevenston] Ayrshire (Scotland), to (Hagan). In thanks for arranging access to the papal audience; regretting that because of his retiring nature he did not accept their hospitality. Inviting him to Scotland. Then commenting that 'I did not see much of the religious spirit of Rome, but I presume it is there', comparing to Lourdes. 'The churches in Rome are fine, but I have seen one almost equal to any of then (and) that is Einsiedeln in Switzerland'.
