Description
Holograph letter from Seán T. (Ó Ceallaigh), 91 St. Stephen's Green (Dublin), to (Hagan), in thanks for his letters. He gave Hagan's letter regarding 'Dr. M's' information to the Superior. Commenting at length on Devoy's visit; though the government is eager to recruit him he will not co-operate; he favours Mulcahy over the others. The latter told Devoy the 'National' party with McGrath were of no use, spending their time drinking or at race meetings. Although Devoy's following is such that it would be a boon to win him back over to the republican side, Ó Ceallaigh believes his violent dislike of DeValera will unfortunately be against such a rapprochement, although there is another man returning to the fold who could help winning him over. Stating again his misgivings concerning the projected trip [to the United States]; he will have to go for six months at least. Proposing to Hagan to meet him at the end of the month in Paris before his departure. Adding good wishes for an easing of Hagan's troubles: 'Please God the looters may yet be disappointed in all their efforts'. (Some markings in red ink by [Hagan]).
