Holograph letter from M.J. Curran, 15 Garville Avenue, Rathgar (Dublin), to (Hagan), in reply to two letters. 'Attalea' [Bishop O'Donnell] was very pleased with Hagan's letter to Sbarretti. Reiterating (the Archbishop of) Dublin's stance; both he and O'Donnell would support him if he needed to reject the scheme and remain in Via Mazzarino. (Byrne) thinks it unlikely that the Pope would have Hagan sign a document 'in the Bisleti manner' but is shocked 'over the scandal (and) its revelation of the character of the Curia &Co.' If a gift from the Holy See then technically the College will be Italian property; stating his strong aversion to that. Explaining that he has only a short time to act in. Promising to get books; matter to be settled with Tonnini. Hoping to have game of lawn-tennis at Tivoli with Hagan.
