Typescript letter with few handwritten corrections signed 'C.'[F.Ronayne], Dublin, to (Hagan), with new developments in the Blue Sisters' appeal. Enclosing part of the appeal (not extant). Reiterating belief that complete separation from the Italian houses will be for the best, also in the name of Irish donors to property that benefits the novitiate. (Sisters) Ambrose and Baptist are deter- mined. Then commenting on a great evening with Austin (Stack), Art (O'Brien), Dr. Jim [...] and 'Sister Teresa' (Ó Ceallaigh), who are 'looking forward to taking up the ribbons when the time comes' and to putting the clock back to July 11, 1921. 'The Brewer' (Morrissey) is still quite unwell. He has neither seen 'Sister Catherine' [P.T. Keohane] nor 'the Holy Officer' [Archbishop Byrne]; the latter is gallivanting about with the Bishop of Bob- bio. 'The Revmo' [...] leaves New York on 20 August, but he might not come to Ireland directly. Also commenting that Hagan's friend Stukely makes a great impression in Dublin. He himself leaves for Kinsale. Devoy issues careful statements and the boundary issue is said to cause a crisis for the politicians.
