Description
Holograph letter from Francis Davin, St. Mirin's Rectory, Paisley, Scotland, to (Hagan). Asking to obtain permission for Fr. Thomas Byrne of Dr. Hannah's diocese (from Clonmel) to say Mass on board ship. Stating that of the old Irish College students he has only met Scanlon lately, now in Glasgow. Dublin priests, he finds, have 'some sort of Apostolic Vocation for the [defense] of the Free State which is bye the bye on the wane nevertheless'. Since the Free State has most of his family 'inside' he spent his holidays at home.
