Holograph letter from Bishop Charles McHugh, St. Eugene’s, Derry, to (Hagan). Stating preference for withdrawing Fr. Kearney's case for the commutation of Masses since the Orangemen would make great capital out of the matter. Expressing impatience over the Christian Brothers case; wondering if they ought to tolerate their conduct to avoid an adverse decision from Rome. Remarking that the Lourdes pilgrimage was a great success – it 'should bring a blessing on our poor country'. He dined with the Archbishop of Dublin who is a great supporter of everything Hagan does.
