dc.description | Holograph letter from James O'Byrne, Irish College, Rome, to 'dear Jim' [Thurles, County Tipperary]. Reporting on his misfortune of being sent back a year for having skipped classes at Propaganda 'for a good feed', along with Paddy Lee. Also, all privileges were stopped for them. 'Don't let out anything about this to the lads in Thurles' also for Lee's sake. Some comments on the hurling season; Limerick and Tipperary will play 'the rest'. He was 'rotten homesick' during the retreat 'but got out of it then T.G.' Some 4th-year Divines 'are a rotten crowd' taking it out on him and Lee in their misfortune. | |
