Description
Holograph letter from 'Mac' [Sister Mary...], Fiesole, to Hagan, with good wishes for the New Year; hoping the rumour that he did not attend the requiem Mass for Cardinal Logue for health reasons is not true. Soliciting his opinions on the chapter where John Bull seemed to be reigning; comments on arbitrary decisions made on Irish sisters: 'only the rotten ones remain'; asking him to use influence with Mother Mary Ambrose so that no further Irish are sent to Italy. Bitter comments on the Casa di Cura, Florence. Message for Sr. (Mary) Padua who has been sent to America to raise funds. Offering him code forms for her colleagues' names for the next communication. More comments on other sisters. Bishop Mahoney is not popular at all; 'a real women hater'. (Marked 'private and confidential'; writer seems disturbed.)
