Description
Holograph letter from Bishop William Codd, Wexford, to Hagan, in thanks for his report [concerning the Benedictines at Mount St. Benedict, Gorey] and thankful that he urges a special visitation. Though the congregation recognises Codd's predecessor's permission, his own assent may still be necessary, and barring it the congregation would have to take full responsibility for per- mitting the foundation of a monastery. Downside has not shown any concern for the afflictions their representatives brought on his diocese.
