Description
Holograph letter from Archbishop P.J. Clune, The Palace, Victoria Square, Perth, Western Australia, to Hagan. Enclosing holograph letter from James MacCaffrey, St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth (County Kildare), to Clune, giving a negative reference for Patrick Clune, student at St. Patrick’s, for his insufficiently excused periods of absence over three years, his generally unsatisfactory character and attitude generally advising him against adopting him. - Commenting further and asking Hagan to explain the matter to Clune; he was evidently 'palmed off' on the archbishop; offering to pay his fare home. He does not seem suited for the priesthood. [30 January - 7 March 1925]
