Description
Holograph letter from Denis Hynes, St. Mary’s College, Galway, to Hagan. Enclosing letter from Sr. Mary Lelia, St. Vincent’s, Convent of Mercy, Galway, to Hagan, enclosing Mass stipends for the intention to enable the Holy Father to make peace in Ireland; making several suggestions for occasions for national novenas especially honouring St. Theresa, and for national penance. Hoping Bishop O’Doherty will be inspired to heroic deeds to attain sainthood; he is thought to be a ‘famous joker’. – Hynes comments that the Galway and Tuam prelates have not been sympathetic to her plans. Her brother lectures at the university college; enclosing cheque on her behalf. Regretting he will probably not come to Rome for a few years. [25 March]- 2 April 1925
