Description
Holograph letter from Archbishop Patrick O’Donnell, Ara Coeli, Armagh, to (Hagan), in thanks for good news on the (Christian) Brothers business and on the new buildings. Brief reference to the [Archdale dictum]. Then commenting that while Catholics in the northeast have a hard time, there has so far been no bitterness surrounding the elections. The bishops decided on their policy as soon as elections were announced and should at least not offend anybody on the Irish side. Regretting he will not be free to come to Rome before July. He will keep the house at Carlingfort. Adding that he has written to the Archbishop of Dublin concerning the important decree just received.
