Description
Holograph letter from Ernie O'Malley (with cover address care of C. O'Sullivan), Aragón 249 1st 2a, Barcelona, Spain, to (Hagan), reminding him of their meeting in Drumcondra in 1922. Released from camp last July, he came abroad to gain strength for operations – 'I have still eight pieces of lead in me'. His passport is in the name of Cecil Smyth Howard. Asking for introductions to someone in southern Spain who can assist him in learning Spanish and finding some work with languages. Intending to go to Italy in July; asking for a list of reliable 'digs' to avoid hotel registration procedures: Spanish agents are on to him at present. Others think he is in Italy. When on hunger-strike he met Fr. Morrissey, Hagan's friend - 'a great old saint'.
