Telegram from [P.A.] Vaughan, Perth, to Hagan. Asking whether Archbishop (Mannix) may have privilege to present the golden trowel for closing the Holy Door; an Australian pilgrim would donate at least £500. They themselves will reach Rome 28 May. Now attached [draft] handwritten letter from Hagan [in Tizi’s hand] to ‘your excellence’ [...], making the same proposal.
