dc.description | Holograph letter from M.J.C.[urran], on board the S.S. America, United States Lines (between Cherbourg and Cobh), to ‘Carissimo’ (Hagan). Praising at length this comfortable means of returning to Ireland. Comments on his pleasant railway journey, meeting Mr. and Mrs. Fleming whom Hagan had just received. On board he met Fr. Tobin of St. Colman’s. He may see Dr. Browne in Cobh and give him (the Archbishop of) Cashel’s plans for the College; arrangements to share these out further. Professor Merriman will call; asking him to arrange a ‘tronetto’ audience for them and introduce him as President of [Cork]. Adding impressions from Luxeuil where he and Dr. Fair received great treatment from the Curé, showing them the main Columban sites. | |
