Description
Holograph letter from M.J. Browne, St. Patrick’s College Maynooth (County Kildare), to (Hagan). Hagan's wishes with regard to Dr. Gilmartin were executed eventually. Humorous remarks about the bishops moving very quickly on behalf of the Roman College's financial needs; Maynooth never gets such treatment: they must be 'such keen judges of men'. Further commenting on the new and rapturously welcomed volume of the Archivium – 'we are a forgiving people'. He found no traces of 'bellicose preparations' concerning Ossory. More humour about preparations for sending contingents on the pilgrimage. Anxiously awaiting arrival of their Australian friend; looking forward to treating Hagan hospitably.
