Description
Holograph letter from M.J.C.[urran], Tivoli, to Hagan. Saturday, with Cardinal Lucidi and the bishop as guests, went well overall. The latter, however, wishes to come back and be the only higher prelate present. Enclosing students' exam results (not extant). Then commenting at length on the students' bad practice of taking exams in no obvious order, being facilitated in this by the colleges. The prefects ought to be made felt their responsibilities, and the general standard raised. Naming proposed prefects. Brief news of some students; one of them met Dr. Fallon's student, Mr. Page. He invited Scannell of Cork to stay; asking about issues of the Courier de Genève discussed in the (Catholic) Bulletin. More about the St. Peter burglary. Then remarking that four colleges are brought together at Villa Gabriele – 'what an escape we had!'
