Description
Typescript letter with handwritten corrections signed Francis Walter [Doheny], [The Parade, Kilkenny], to Bishop Brownrigg of Ossory, Monsignor T.F. Macken (Dean of Achonry) and Monsignor Michael O'Riordan (Irish College, Rome). Very lengthy, convoluted account of perceived injustice with regard to the Free State's old age person's funds, in some way connected to present and past Ossory pilgrimages: discussing members of the present pilgrimage. Also brought in connection with Carsonism on which he claims expert knowledge. Enclosing various documents considering past Popes' roles in the matter; a [satirical] list of aliases for persons involved; a memorandum on the role of clergy in the administration of pensions. (A disturbed mind at work.) [12-19 Sept.]
