dc.description | Holograph letter from J.[Kearney], Hotel Royal [Rome], to Hagan, enclosing a token in gratitude for being included in the Vatican visit. Then, in reference to their talk about conditions in Ireland, stating it is hard to comprehend the peril of the situation north and south for one removed from the scene. At length recounting his attempt to help identify a man involved in [a night of murder] in 1920, after Lord Mayor McCurtain's death [a certain Wilson D.T.]. Also, he mentioned the McCurtain's murder from the altar and just escaped being shot by the Black and Tans because of it. (See below among undated [1925], a postscript might have belonged here.) | |
