Description
Holograph letter from John Byrne C.S. Sp., Rockwell College, Cashel, County Tipperary, to Hagan, stating that he awaited his expected demotion from the superiorship of the College before answering his letter. His Bolshevik principles are the main cause; resenting the manner in which it happened. However, the recent success and great number of new boys of the College ought to be telling despite the blame formerly placed on him, a republican. Then praising Hagan's nephew, promising to see to it that special care will be taken of him. Agreeing that the cause needs careful handling; there are so many shades of republican opinion. Commenting on the pilgrimage and Killaloe's participation [as president]; not happy with the latter's recent praise for Rockwell. Brief personal news.
