Description
Holograph letter from [F.J.E.] McEwan, 262 Kingston Road, Hampton Wick, London (England), to Hagan. Informing him that 'our friend Langdon' has lost his pro-curatorship for the English Benedictines; Gasquet could not save him. The latter will not last long now, and Langdon will then be out of a job: 'what a relief!' His successor is Dom Placid Turner. It was kept out of the papers, suggesting Hagan has it appear in Irish and American ones. McKenzie is consequently also not on for advancement and might return to being a 'journalistic tramp'. MacEwan will be in Rome next week. Asking not to disclose his informant.
