Description
Typescript letter with handwritten addition signed by Archbishop Thomas Gilmartin, St. Jarlath's, Tuam (County Galway), to [Pope Pius XI]. Outlining the case of a married couple ('Gaius et Bertha') who entered matrimony without the necessary dispensation in consanguinity twelve years ago. Their priest has obtained dispensation and renewed their vows but asking for 'sanatio in radice'. (Reverse marked in pencil asking the couple's surname.) [18 November - 5 December 1925]
