Description
Holograph letter from James Sinnott M.S.S., Mission House, Enniscorthy (County Wexford), to (Hagan). Explaining that he sent the telegram last week because one of the Ryans of Tomcoole visited on behalf of one of their own, Berchman. Stating that Paddy Dunne, visiting them, discounted the 'Tizi affair', expressing everybody's respect and affection for him; few will be taken in by 'our Limerick friend'. Dan Breen entered the Dáil; expecting he will join the Independents and thus strengthen them considerably; likewise Labour will benefit from their alliance with the publicans against the temperance legislation. Fr. Bastible proposed a pilgrimage to Rome for the College centenary. Willie Gaul is anxious for Bishop Codd to send him to Rome for a few years. Finally regretting that Hagan had a slight attack; he expected it – 'I say go easy'. (The Tizi affair makes this item look like 1927 instead- see correspondence in November and December 1926.)
