Description
Holograph letter from Bishop J. Dignan, Coorheen, Loughrea (County Galway), to Hagan. Brief agency matters concerning [Fr.O'Loughlin], the Sacred Heart Sodality, and enclosing holograph letter from M. Tuohy C.C., Kilconnell, to (Dignan), concerning a dispensation for a layman from the fast before holy communion. He has told Frs. Naughten and O'Mahoney to prepare to return; asking Hagan to explain to the Consistorial that their collection for the poor parish of Gurteen was initiated by parishioners in the States. It is for a memorial church for Fr. Griffin, murdered by the Black and Tans. (This is in contradiction with a letter of 24 January 1928, where permission is asked for the two priests to go out to America seemingly for the first time.) [26 February - 7 March 1926]
