Description
Holograph letter from T.H. Ellis, Civic Guard Depôt, Phoenix Park, Dublin, to (Hagan). Sending him separately copies of documents to illustrate his case; Bishop Gaughran now thinks the case out of his hands. He has to return Moyne tomorrow. Wishing to say Mass again, and to study in Italy until matters come right. Now attached copy handwritten letter from Ellis to Cardinal Sbarretti (another letter to Gaughran not extant, but see 6 July): at length stating his case (as before to Hagan); wishing to have it reopened; asking for faculties to say Mass.
