Description
[Copy] typescript letter from (Hagan), Rome, to Cardinal (O'Donnell, Armagh). In gratitude for the five students sent out which brings Armagh up to seven. Stating that all dioceses are represented excepting Ross and Ossory; the latter is no great surprise. Then representing that Cardinal Bisleti seeks to have his rights over St. Agatha’s confirmed; fearing he may be thinking of establishing rights over the new building in some way. He has been given the advice that the cardinal's presence in a case of mischief may be essential, asking about his willingness to 'run out to Rome'. Alternatively, a resolution of the Irish bishops formally congratulating the College may be of help, showing their solidarity. Adding the warning that friends of Dr. O'Gorman spread rumours of his imminent elevation to the cardinalcy – 'you must look to your laurels'.
