Holograph letter from Thomas Hayden, Callan (County Kilkenny), to Hagan, in reply; congratulating him on the new College. He will follow Archbishop Sheehan's suggestion to go to Rome together for November. Reporting on Mr. Dineen, yet in hospital; unwilling to judge on his aptness for the priesthood but judging he would not make a professor. Glad that a good student could be secured from Mungret – James Madden has turned out very well. He met the reverend mother at Mullinavat [Mother Paulinus].
