Description
Typescript letter with handwritten addition signed J. McShane, St. Columb's College, Derry, to 'Carissimo' (Hagan). Commenting very favourably on the impression made by the new man [Bishop O'Kane] following on his speeches at the banquet- fine mental powers are combined with an outward simplicity of manners. Regarding 'F' [Farren] the bishop prefers him to remain where he is; admitting the decision suits himself, too. Also asking for a papal blessing for Sr. (Mary) regis of the Sisters of Nazareth. Recommending their two students; both are of 'exhibition calibre'.
