dc.description | Holograph letter from M. bean Uí Riain, Kindlestown (County Wicklow), in gratitude for having arranged a shop position for her friend R. Smith. Stating that the discussions between the two republican sides would put his mind 'in a whirl'. She is against her side contesting a few seats: protesting she is 'not so mad for absolute intransigence' and would give DeV(alera)'s new policy a chance if her conscience did not prevent her from actively supporting him. She told 'Art' [O'Connor] about this, and 'A' [the same] holds that 'the new offshoots were worse than the old (Mulcahy Higgins etc.) is as much as they should know better!' Closing remark about her busy life as a farmer's wife. | |
