Giving an account of the publication history; justifying the need for sermons on the epistles, not just the gospels, following the early church fathers, the Council of Trent, and quoting the words of Bishop [Borronelli]. The importance of teaching the scriptures well, and the fact that the epistles of Sts. Peter and Paul are a 'precious mine of Christian instruction'.
